Remember we are meeting at the Sandgate Library, where some of our practical sessions take place already. Parking in Castle Road Car Park is free and on the road too. Radnor Cliff is worth attempting to park and the library is just a short walk down the hill.

Mon 21 Jan 2019 - A photographic journey in Romania
George pearson is a photographer from Ashford CC. He is a very discerning photographer, getting to know the people he was photographing in Romania, careful not to intrude but making the most of every moment presented for the camera - ‘the story is the important thing’ – and his pictures tell their story. By rising early, George was able to capture some breathtaking images of misty forests, church spires and mountains, with autumn colours caught in the morning sun.

Not an easy subject in a single session as the light changes 365/24/7, however we will see what the day gives us. Sunday appears to be the most promising day weather forcast wise.
Venue:- Rye, the town offers lots of photo opportunities in a campact area and ample cafe's etc to get into should the rain become a problem. The sun is meant to shine at times on Sunday therefore we should get shadows, reflections etc and be able to practice Depth of Field.
A tripod could be of use to you for this exercise.

Equipment:- camera, longest lens you have , although lots of other subjects to photgraph in the Pit Area, (Take care in this area). Fully charged battery & spare, Tripod is not essential but could be useful.Monopod can be very useful for this type of photography. Formatted memory cards. Wear appropriate clothing for the day.

In this session we will demonstrate the correct way to utilise your tripod. This subject may seem a little dry, however watching people struggle with and fight their tripods it is time to sort it! We will also have a little fun taking "distorted" pictures using glass objects, dewdrops etc.
You will require your cameras, lens.(macro if you have one or extension tubes) Tripod (to use properly) and as usual a formatted memory card, fully charged battery and spare just in case.....
You may wish to bring along an object such as a goblet,paperweight etc
